Tom Brake MP debates Education Policy

Tom Brake MP, this week, attended an event to discuss education policy on a panel with fellow Parliamentary Candidates at the Sutton Civic Offices.

The event, hosted by the Sutton Governors Forum, provided the opportunity for school governors to hear candidates from the major parties set out their respective party policy on education. Tom highlighted Liberal Democrat education policy initiatives such as Free School Meals and the Pupil Premium, while the Council’s plans to develop a number of new local schools in Sutton Borough were also discussed.

Commenting on the event, Tom said:

“I welcomed the opportunity to hear from school governors and their concerns and priorities for education and how they feel nation-wide policies impact on our schools here in Sutton.”

“It gave me the perfect opportunity to celebrate the successes in education that the Lib Dems in government have had over the last 5 years!”
