Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, met with constituents to discuss their concerns over climate change on 24 June. Over 9,000 people from across the UK came to Westminster for the ‘Speak Up for Climate’ lobby, the largest in history.
Local campaigners asked Tom to back measures that combat climate change, promote clean and safe energy, and help the poorest in the world, who are the most affected by climate change.
“I am grateful that so many local people came to Westminster for this important lobby. My constituents asked me to keep working to tackle climate change, and I promise I will. I was very moved by their commitment to this issue and I hope that the government will take steps towards a global climate change deal this year.”
