Transport for London (TfL) have, at the end of last month, published their report on the outcome of the proposed Sutton Link consultation. The results have shown that 81% of respondents support bringing the tram to Sutton.
Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake said:
"I am really pleased that residents are unstinting in their support for the project. Sutton Link will improve transport locally, provide economic benefits to the community and provide a reliable service that commuters can count on.
"I have been campaigning, with my colleagues on Sutton Council to bring the tram to Sutton for many years. I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome of the consultation."
TfL are yet to review residents' feedback and will be making a decision on the preferred option, as well as further stages of the development, later this year.
