Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington, this week, popped into the Riverside Animal Centre to celebrate the official handover of a year’s worth of donations from local constituents.
Riverside Animal Centre, based in Beddington Park, do important work in helping to protect vulnerable and endangered wildlife. Care is provided by the charity for injured wildlife and abandoned pets, to aid them in their recovery, so that they can be released back into the wild or put up for adoption in a new home.
Tom has been supporting the charity for the last year and thanks to the generosity of local people has managed to raise £1,362. This money is providing vital financial support to keep the centre running so it can continue to help vulnerable wildlife in the area.
The centre was last year chosen by the Carshalton and Wallington MP as his annual ‘Charity of the Year’.
Commenting on the visit, Tom said:
‘Riverside Animal Centre do fantastic work for local wildlife. The donation will help cover their costs for a time, paying for vital feed and other supplies
‘I am proud that local constituents have come together so generously to show their support for the charity.’
