Tom Brake MP is calling on the new Health & Social Care Secretary to establish a cross-party group to find a long-term funding solution for our National Health Service.
Carshalton & Wallington MP Tom Brake said:
“I am committed to working with colleagues from all political parties to find a sustainable solution for the NHS and social care in the face of rising demand and a severe workforce crisis.
“The Lib Dems propose a short-term solution of putting a penny in the pound on Income Tax to give the NHS and social care services a much-needed annual cash injection of £6 billion.
“In the long-term, however, we need a bold and sustainable plan to safeguard health and social care for future generations.
“That's why I'm calling on the new Health and Social Care Secretary, Matt Hancock, to establish a cross-party group, bringing together politicians, patients and professionals to carry out a comprehensive review and find a long-term solution to save our NHS.”
