Commenting on the fare structure changes announced this week which will offer better value fares for short distances and group bookings on the ‘GoSutton’ buses Tom Brake said: “The 'GoSutton’ bus service has been a massive success so far."
"Hundreds of residents use the service each day for rides to local rail stations, hospital appointments or visits to the High Street. I welcome cheaper fares as they will encourage more residents, especially families, to use this service.
Unfortunately, this ‘GoSutton’ Bus trial is expected to end next May, but I’m calling on Transport for London (TfL) and the Mayor to make this service permanent in Sutton. We have some of the worst public transport provision in London, so we need the Mayor to do more for our borough."
So far over 1,000 residents have signed the ‘Save the GoSutton Bus’ petition.
