Tom Brake presents 'Your High' petition to Chief Constable Tim Hollis

Tom Brake is campaigning to ban the sale of drugs paraphernalia

Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington, who presented the petition in Westminster to Chief Constable Tim Hollis - the senior officer in the Association of Chief Police Officers who has been tasked with reviewing the police's approach to cannabis - said, "We need action now from the Home Secretary to close this gaping loophole which allows shops to trade legally in drugs paraphernalia."

Tim Hollis has agreed to provide details of any successful prosecutions of so called 'head shops' in other parts of the country to see whether action could be taken here in Wallington.

Tom Brake will be seeking a further meeting with the Home Office to press them to take urgent action. He is also pursuing the possibility of a by-law with Sutton Council.
