Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake is encouraging people to go along to the Dinner and Dance Fundraising Event on the 10th June in aid of the Dana's Walk to the Stars campaign.

The campaign has been set up to help Dana, a 12-year-old girl, and raise money for a life-changing operation in the United States that will help her to walk independently for the first time.

She suffers from a form of Cerebral Palsy which affects her legs, meaning that she has to walk with tripod sticks or use a wheelchair.

Tom said: "It is tragic to see someone so young so seriously afflicted by an illness like this. I hope that this event can go some way towards helping her live a better life."

The event, which is being organised together with local dance school Surrey Jive at the Holiday Inn Sutton, will have a 1950s swing dance theme and involve a raffle and auction. Tickets are on sale at £25 per person.
