Tom Brake MP is encouraging local residents to help keep Sutton one of the safest boroughs in London by joining Sutton Neighbourhood Watch.
The organisation works with local police teams and Sutton Council to bring the community together and help prevent crime.
Carshalton & Wallington MP Tom Brake said:
“We live in one of the safest parts of London thanks largely to the effective way local groups, Sutton Council and the police work so closely together. Sutton Neighbourhood Watch is a great example of that and it’s a brilliant way for residents to get involved in the community.
“By joining the watch you’ll look out for your neighbours and help keep our homes, streets and estates safe.”
Neighbourhood Watch is a partnership where people come together to make their communities safer. It involves the police, community safety departments of local authorities, other voluntary organisations and, above all, individuals and families who want to make their neighbourhoods better places to live.
It aims to help people protect themselves and their properties and to reduce the fear of crime by means of improved home security, greater vigilance, accurate reporting of suspicious incidents to the police and by fostering a community spirit.
