Spell out your organ donation decision – says Brake

New figures show that just 45% of families agree to organ donation going ahead if they are unaware of their loved one’s decision to be a donor, but this figure rises to 95% when they know their loved one has chosen to donate their organs. MP for Carshalton and Wallington, Tom Brake, attended this year’s National Transplant Week event in Parliament, organised by NHS Blood and Transplant and the British Kidney Patient Association to highlight the importance of telling family and friends your donation decision.

Pupil Premium is helping children excel in Sutton.

Hundreds of disadvantaged schoolchildren in Sutton are reaping the benefit of the Pupil Premium. Figures show that last year 42.7% of youngsters from poorer backgrounds in Sutton have achieved five or more GCSEs at A* to C grade compared to 39.2% in 2012.

Public Meeting Success

Last Thursday in Wallington at the Trinity Centre, Maldon Road, the future of Sutton healthcare was discussed at an animated public meeting.
