An estimated 30% of Sutton residents are currently enrolled on the Work Programme, which is delivered by A4e, a leading public service provider. Last week, Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington visited the organisation and spent time talking to local job seekers about the support they are getting to find jobs and stay in work.

Beddington Park Heritage Lottery Fund Celebratory Event

In July, The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Big Lottery Fund announced £34.5 million of investment in 13 parks across the UK. One of the parks chosen, was Sutton’s very own Beddington Park. This week, they are celebrating their successful bid for the first stage of the improvement scheme.

Tom Brake MP urges schools to visit local Commonwealth war graves.

Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, is urging local schools to visit their local Commonwealth war graves to gain a greater understanding of the scale and magnitude of the Great War and the impact that it has had on today’s society.  His call comes after he visited on Friday the grave, in Bandon Hill cemetery, of local hero Lionel Beach DSO (Captain).
