Tom Brake MP backs 20mph speed limit

Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington added his voice to the GO 20 campaign to make 20mph the default urban speed limit – to bring about safe, active, happy communities.

Mr Brake joins eight in 10 people (78%) across the UK who believe 20mph should be the norm around schools, on residential streets, and in village, town and city centres, as revealed by a survey carried out by Brake - the road safety charity - and Allianz Insurance.

Carshalton and Wallington unemployment slashed for a fourth month

Unemployment in Carshalton and Wallington falls for a fourth consecutive month according to official numbers.

The Office for National Statistic (ONS) announced last week that the number of unemployed claimants in April 2014 was 1,336 – 642 lower than in April 2013 and 66 lower than the previous month, the biggest monthly fall since November 2013.
