TfL Releasing the Brake for ‘Better Buses for Sutton’

Tom Brake and the local Lib Dems have been calling on Transport for London (TfL) to improve bus services in Sutton. Over the recent months, TfL have met the following demands:

• Route 93 - additional peak bus introduced end of August
• Route 127 – increased to 6 buses per hour Monday to Saturday, and 4 buses per hour on Sundays
• Route 407 – converted to double decker end of August
• Route 463 / 633 – extra journey introduced in each school peak
• Route 154 – increased to 6 buses per hour Monday to Saturday
• Plans to extend 470 route all the way to Epsom Hospital

Tom Brake, Lib Dem candidate for Carshalton and Wallington, said:

“I am proud of all the victories our campaign is achieving – this shows that together we can secure real change and turn small victories into big successes.

“While I’m pleased with the work we have already done, we need to keep going and secure all of our demands. I will continue to put pressure on TfL to provide more frequent and reliable buses and implement the improvements that residents are crying out for.”
