On Friday, Tom Brake MP made the rounds in Carshalton and Wallington, visiting this year’s winners of his annual Independent Business Competition.
This year, there were winners in several different categories. Frank Di Lusso hairdressers won ‘Best Independent Shop,’ while Roast & Ground secured the title for ‘Best Café or Restaurant.’ The Sun won ‘Best Pub’ and this year’s ‘Overall Best Independent Business’ is the Sassis Coffee Shop.
Tom thanks the hundreds of people who showed their support for their favourite independent retailers by voting.
Regarding the competition, Tom commented, “Supporting and celebrating our local independent businesses is incredibly important. Carshalton and Wallington is lucky to have so many wonderful independent retailers, and this competition is a way of letting them know that we appreciate their hard work. I would like to congratulate all of the winners of the 2014 Independent Business Competition and wish their businesses every success in the future.”
